The Research Center of Petroleum Industry (RIPI) and Pars Oil and Gas Company (POGC) inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on the second day of the International Petro Energy Exhibition, held in Kish.

Dr. Masour Bazmi, Deputy Head of RIPI in Technology and International Relations, and Rasoul Fallahnejad, Director of Engineering and Construction at POGC, signed the agreementon Tuesday, January 11, focusing attention on the cooperation in making use of modern technologies as well as providing technological services concerning overcoming major setbacks of the upstream petroleum industry for the purpose of reducing risk and cost, increasing productivity in enhance oil recovery from reservoirs, and creating the maximum added value in various fields.

One of the most prominent projects stipulated in the MOU, and will be scheduled for implementation, is the technological ways of controlling water in the oil fields since production of water together with the unexpected gas may render the capacity of the research units inactive and inoperative”, Dr. Bazmi Said.

The MOU is implemented in the form of several projects, and with regard to the needs in the upstream and midstream industries the areas for further cooperation are going to increase.
