Main Objective To have complete PSA technology package (absorbent and process) for production of nitrogen from air. Introduction CMS are micro porous materials that are able to discriminate between absorbing molecules on the basis of shape and size and thus can be used in gas separation processes. Description The method of CMS production involved the selection or preparation of a carbonic material followed by reduction of its pore size by hydrocarbon thermal decomposition under inert atmosphere. To accomplish this process, the carbonic base material was obtained by carbonization of cellulose base raw material such as walnut and coconut shell in the inert atmosphere. The produced porous carbon was mixed with coal tar pitch and suitable binder and it was extruded to cylindrical shape followed by heating in inert atmosphere. The produced CMS was suitable for nitrogen separation from air, which have higher performance in comparison of similar commercial ones.
Main Application Produced CMS can be used in PSA process for nitrogen production from air. Economics & Advantages Nitrogen production through PSA process using CMS, is economic in wide range of nitrogen purity and capacity:
